Farro Cicchetti – Il Farro D'Oro

Spelled locally "FARRE" is a cold-resistant plant, suitable for poor soils, grown in mountain areas such as Monteleone di Spoleto, where its cultivation has never stopped

Some traces of Farro (Triticum dicoccum) have been found in Monteleone di Spoleto, in the “tomb of the Biga” (Etruscan tomb dating back to the 6th century BC).

SPELLED was the basis of the "Plus", boiled cereal soup for the Greeks and Romans, who made extensive use of it and was an integral part of the provision of the Roman army.

The CICCHETTI s.n.c. is one of the major local producers of Farro, always using organic farming methods. The cultivation of this ancient cereal has been handed down from father to son for generations.
The company is located in the green and lush valley of Monteleone di Spoleto where it carries out all the processing of spelled which is then packaged and sold in Italy and abroad.

Il programma di investimento ha cercato di porre in atto tutti accorgimenti finalizzati ad ottenere delle produzioni di alta qualità, nel caso specifico BIO, riducendo al minimo l’impatto ambientale, prevedendo l’acquisto di attrezzature quali spandiconcime e seminatrice combinata, necessarie per la gestione agricola riducendo i costi di produzione e sia per migliorare la sostenibilità ambientale.
